Most of the countries around the globe are going through lockdown as a measure to minimise the spread of Covid-19, so is India. As per the researchers, doctors and Government, the only way we can fight this is through Social Distancing. However, studies show that being inactive is bad for our physical and mental health. So, staying active during this time of global crisis is highly important. Being physically active helps to manage your blood pressure and cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Physical activity also helps to strengthen your immune system. Staying active also helps in mental health as it helps lower stress hormones and promotes the release of feel-good hormones.

Many of us used to go to the gym before the lockdown and some of us had the morning or evening walk regime. Now that we are stuck at home, the workout part is completely missing for most of us. So what? We can still ensure that we make most of the situation and stay fit and healthy during this time. As we cannot venture out and do proper exercise or walking, there are few things we can definitely follow to stay healthy and fit.

Eating Healthy

Cooking has become of one favourite skill that everyone is trying their hands on. So, why not try cooking something healthy. A healthy diet can help in many ways. Firstly, it helps to reduce the chances of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, depression, and anxiety. Control on your sugar intake and processed food. A lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains are really good for our health.

Sleep well

Sleeping well is really important and specifically maintaining a proper sleep cycle. As most of us are doing work from home, our daily routine has changed. Having proper sleep helps to repair our body cells, clear toxins, and process information properly. Studies also show that sleep helps to strengthen immunity. For most of us sleeping for six to eight hours is enough.

Working Out

While working out in the gym or the park is not an option now, there are many other ways. You can check out live classes buy many fitness clubs and gyms, there are at-home-workout videos available.

Finally, most importantly to follow social distancing. Use your spare time in reading books, redecorating your space, doing online shopping for women, etc. Being active is the key to staying healthy mentally and physically.
